Moving and Packing With Kids 101

Moving is one of the biggest challenges of life. Everything must be ready financially, physically, socially and most important, emotionally. It’s hard for adults to leave what they have to attain something new. But for whatever reasons of moving, it isn’t easy. So what more it could be for the children if they will be moving too?

Children have fears of parting with friends and school. And sometimes, if they will be moving alone, it takes a lot of courage to accept and to do so.

Pre Moving
Make your children feel that they are secured and loved. Moving doesn’t mean you’ll be forgetting all the things you had.Tell them that they will find better and bigger opportunities to look for in your new place.

Make sure that as parent, you will be the first person to say it. You can have a gathering to tell it. Don’t let rumors tell them first hand.  But if you can’t do it, ask your spouse or your older children who can explain it gently. With this, your child will feel that they are important part of the family.

Give expectations. Let your child know the important details of the new place you’ll be moving in. Describe the house, the neighborhood and the nearest place where everyone can have a good time. But don’t over promise because this may just lead to disappointment and depression.

Have an open communication. Once everything is set, make sure that everyone is entertaining questions and suggestions. Exchange ideas that will help your moving become easier. They will not feel that they matter but this also prepares them with the things that they need to do.

Take a tour. Show them what you told them. Have a sightseeing with your children at the vicinity. Also, walk them thru each room of the house and share your plans. Show them their bedrooms and ask if they like it. Know if they want new color or paint for their room. These activities will enthusiast them about moving.

Moving and Packing
Give your children lists of essential things that they need to pack.  Aside from the clothes, shoes and books let them pack their own toys and toiletries. For their personal collections or valuables, ask them to have their own essential box. This box will contain most of the memories they have from the old house which will make them feel home for the first few days.

This is the most draining part of moving with all the packing and disassembling of furniture.  Contact a moving expert as much as possible. They help you with all the packing, shipping and unpacking of all your things. For professional assistance, have
Excellent Movers LLC as top of your choice.

Post Moving
Once you get to your new place, children need to settle down first. They need to take a deep breath before unpacking their things.

You can also give a little token or souvenir items to them for appreciating their simple efforts in helping you move and pack. You can give them personalized rubber bracelets since it's the new trend for the youngsters nowadays. 1inch Bracelets offers variety of options of size, colors and text carving, good for simple token of appreciation.

After unpacking most important things for the house such as the kitchen, help your child to unpack their things. You will feel if they really like the place and their new room when both of you talk. Settling the bedroom will make your child adjust to the atmosphere easily.

Artificial Grass Along Swimming Pools

To complete the nature-theme I want for my house, I’ve decided to go with the water-green-balance rule of home interior. I’ve decided to add green-puttings around my pool. What makes swimming pool more attractive than having some grasses around it?  But since I have no time to water them everyday, I have decided to install artificial grass. Now, I have no worries in watering or mowing my grass.

My swimming pool has a dimension of  20 x 15 x 6 feet. Good thing I hired a professional team of artificial grass installers, and they advised me to put the synthetic grasses at about 3 to 4 feet space from my pool. I didn’t know that chlorine can cause grass discoloration.

The best part of it is when my kids play along the grass and jumps into the pool, I don’t see any traces of grass peeling off the ground and floating on my pool. There was also no mud and tiny rocks that got into the water.

Not only my kids love it but also my dog. He can ran everywhere in the backyard and get inside the house without paw prints on our floor. He can’t dig on the soil anymore since it’s now synthetic. I also think that his lies and ticks went away since he doesn’t scratch that frequently anymore.

When it rains, my artificial grass drains the water instantly. Unlike the real grass which can’t receive all the rain and will cause mud that will go into the pool - a complete mess!

I can’t wait for the spring and summer to come and invite my friends in a pool party at my place here in San Diego. If you want artificial grasses on your backyard or along your swimming pool, I recommend So Cal Greens in San Diego.

I feel safe and clean having artificial grass which is very green along with my very blue swimming pool. With that, I also want to buy my kids some swing and monkey bars too!

Finding Opportunities in Times of Economic Uncertainties

Global Markets have been experiencing volatility in the past few months because of the Greek financial debt issue and the overall European financial crisis. A great part of the investing community continue to pull their money out of the market on fears of recession. However, according to some experts from Knightsbridge Advisors,  it is best to make stock investments when the market is highly uncertain and recession is crawling along the edges.

In the course of financial history, it is during recession when some of the greatest investments were made by the world’s wealthiest investors. At the end of poor economic condition or recession, these same investors were the ones to reap the gain after recovery and growth starts its phase in the financial cycle.

Taking from these stories, it is highly advisable for investors not to cash in their remaining stocks or hide their money under their mattresses during time of economic slowdown or full-blown recession,. Instead, it is during this time that they should review financial history’s lessons; and then make necessary adjustments on long-term investment strategy.

Having said that, here are some tips that investors can use in picking stocks to take advantage of the rare investment opportunity during times of economic uncertainty and market volatility:

#1Look for companies that have double or triple digit growth. This growth is in terms of profit. In spite of other drawbacks, a company with massive growth will not be greatly affected by the economic slowdown.

#2 Pick stocks that are undervalued relative to the company’s intrinsic value. The best known measure if a stock is undervalued is through looking at company’s P/E ratio. Companies with low debt and historically has strong earnings are also the ones to look out for.

#3 Select companies that have economic independence, that is, companies that are not vulnerable to the swings of the U.S. economy. These companies, when looking at their financial statements, still have growing revenues even during the last recession or where profit rose given that sales dropped slightly.

#4 Opt for defensive stocks that focus on food, healthcare and utilities. These companies thrive especially during economic uncertainties because they provide the basic necessities to people; therefore, they continue to get more demand for their products/services, earn revenue and make a high profit.

#5 Choose companies that offer a high dividend yield. Companies usually declare if they provide dividend payouts in their financial statements. If historically a company is paying generous amount of dividend to its shareholders, then that company is a good pick. Reason behind it is because these companies provide income even in difficult times.
